In conjunction with Geotech Environmental's Field Days on June 23 and 24, Colorado Rocky Mountain SWANA has developed a hands-on technical training session on June 23 for landfill operators and their staff on the proper calibration of typical landfill monitoring instruments: a pH meter and turbidity meter for groundwater sampling, landfill gas meter, and four-gas meter for leachate monitoring.
Understanding what constitutes a good calibration, how to "bump test" a calibration, and understanding the measurements all are keys to collecting good environmental field data under safe conditions. Come for hands-on instruction, roll up your sleeves for operating and calibrating the equipment under comfortable indoor conditions, see photographs of the instruments under field conditions, ask the questions you've been wondering about for years, learn from others' experiences, and leave with a better understanding and confidence in your measurements.
Following the training, join other attendees of Geotech's Field Days and enjoy a barbeque lunch, network and meet new friends and colleagues, visit vendors, and still have time to dash back to the landfill to place daily cover! There is no cost for this event because Geotech is providing the facility and lunch.
However, we request pre-registration in order to plan for the number of expected participants. CEUs will be offered.
