Air Quality Issues (presented by CDPHE – APCD) - Compliance Session

Colorado Rocky Mountain SWANA has invited CDPHE Air Pollution Control Division to share information on the current process and proposed process for the submittal of the Air Pollution Emission Notice and Construction Permit (based on the APEN) reporting, Petroleum Contaminated Soils (PCS) and Compost Greenhouse Gas (GHG) impacts.

This session is intended for all interested parties who operate, own, or consult for solid waste facilities but in particular for the smaller operations. How you answer the following questions may suggest attendance would be beneficial.

  • Do you have an APEN for your operation(s)?
  • When is your APEN renewal due?
  • When was the last time you checked your Construction Permit?
  • Do you have a current construction permit (yes you are supposed to have one)?
  • Do you have an updated Waste Design Capacity Report?
  • Do you take PCS?
  • Do you divert yard waste for chipping and/or composting?
  • Are you composting only?
  • Do you have a current APEN for your composting?
  • Do you have questions on the current or proposed air quality rules and regulations?

The afternoon session is a result of the December 6, 2011 meeting in Denver hosted by CDPHE-APCD plus any input received by January 30, 2012 on draft forms, regulations and reports.

Cost:

The mission of the Colorado Rocky Mountain Chapter of SWANA is to advance environmentally and economically sound management of solid waste, and education is a primary goal for fulfilling that mission.
