In Memoriam - KIP R. WHITE
by Mark Molen

Summer 2005

For many, Kip White will be remembered for his mastery of music, having a long run of performing and producing his own music. His family will remember him as a loving devoted father and husband. Those of us who know him from his career in the environmental field know him as a solid, honest, practical and kind environmental professional.

Having grown up in Amarillo, Texas, Kip moved to Denver in 1979. He traveled the world bringing his music to people everywhere he went. As an independent songwriter and musician he produced at least six recordings (CD's) and performed many concerts every year. Information on Kip and his music can be found on his web site at www.kipwhite.com.

Kip R WhiteKip started his environmental career working for Fox Consulting Engineers and Geologists. He ventured out on his own in the late 1980's and built an environmental consulting company, KRW Consulting. Kip had an upright solid sense of confidence and a sincere manner in dealing with people. He was a grounded individual with a focus of being in the moment. You knew when he was listening to you and he made it clear that he left the past and the future to his creator. His accomplishments in the environmental field were many, having helped solve solid waste and environmental problems for both public agencies and private industry. He was a regular at local chapter SWANA functions for over 20 years.

Along with his passion for spiritual music, Kip was a pilot and experienced mountain climber. He would often go camping or climbing with his son Jordan in the winter to find solace. On May 30, 2005 Kip climbed his last mountain, the Maroon Bells where he fell over 400 feet. Tied together with Kip was his son Jordan who survived the fall and found his way out to notify his family. Kip and his wife Luann have their 19-year-old son Jordan, who completed his freshman year at CSU, and their 17-year-old daughter Aubrey, who will be graduating from high school soon.

Kip will be sorely missed and will be remembered as an extraordinary individual respected and admired by many.
